As a kid I not only enjoyed playing the trumpet but also the drums. For example, I played drums in a pop band in high school. But when I started studying I no longer had time for that. In 2018 I had time again and bought a Gretsch Catalina Club jazz kit. I wanted to learn jazz and big band drumming and a son of a friend of mine is a very good jazz drummer, Kevin van den Elzen. Only problem: he lives in LA and I live in the Netherlands. But I asked him anyway, so now I have drum lessons via face time, which works great.
